Terms of Service

Last updated: October 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and AskProxy ("AskProxy," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of the website and services available at askproxy.ai (the "Service"). By visiting the Service, chatting with a proxy, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company or another person, you represent that you have authority to bind them to these Terms.

2. The Service

AskProxy lets a person (a "profile owner") create an AI-powered profile — a "proxy" — trained on background material the profile owner provides, such as information about their work, experience, and skills. Visitors can then chat with the proxy to learn about the profile owner.

Chat responses are generated by artificial-intelligence models (currently large language models provided by Anthropic). Responses are produced automatically from the profile owner's source material and the visitor's questions. They are not written, reviewed, or approved in real time by the profile owner, and they are not statements or commitments made by the profile owner or by AskProxy. See Section 6 for the full AI-content disclaimer.

We may change, add, or remove features of the Service at any time. The Service is in active development, and some features may be offered in beta or experimental form.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You can browse profiles and chat with proxies without an account. To create your own proxy or access certain features, you must create an account, currently by signing in with Google or with a sign-in link sent to your email. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a paid plan.

You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing chris@askproxy.ai. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

4. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, throttle, suspend, or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

5. Your content and the license you grant us

"Your Content" means anything you submit to the Service — including profile and background material a profile owner provides, chat messages, and contact-form submissions. You retain ownership of Your Content.

So that we can run the Service, you grant AskProxy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt (for example, formatting or embedding for AI retrieval), transmit, and display Your Content, solely as needed to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service. This includes sending relevant content to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy (for example, sending profile material and chat messages to our AI provider to generate responses). This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies held in routine backups for a limited period or where retention is required by law.

You represent that you have the necessary rights to Your Content and that it does not violate the law or anyone else's rights. Profile owners are responsible for the accuracy of the source material they provide — a proxy can only be as accurate as the material it is given, and inaccurate source material will produce inaccurate answers.

Note for visitors: messages you send to a proxy are stored and are visible to the profile owner (and to the site administrator). Please don't share sensitive personal information in a chat.

6. AI-generated content disclaimer

Proxy responses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong ("hallucinations"), even when the underlying source material is accurate. By using the Service you understand and agree that:

7. Paid plans and billing

Some parts of the Service are, or may become, available only under a paid subscription plan. Where paid plans are offered:

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account and associated data through your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service (in which case we will give reasonable notice where practicable).

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5 (license, to the limited extent needed for backups and legal retention), 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 — survive.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT AVAILABLE THROUGH IT (INCLUDING AI-GENERATED RESPONSES) ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT (INCLUDING AI RESPONSES) WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASKPROXY AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AskProxy and its operators from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) Your Content, including any claim that source material you provided is inaccurate, unlawful, or infringes another person's rights; (b) your use or misuse of the Service; or (c) your violation of these Terms or of applicable law, including creating a proxy of another person without their consent.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will provide additional notice (for example, on the site or by email to account holders). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree with a change, stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek relief in small-claims court where eligible. Nothing in this section deprives you of mandatory consumer protections under the laws of the place where you live.

14. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and AskProxy about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
