AskProxy vs. a Linktree chatbot
In 2026 the link-in-bio category discovered conversation: Linktree added chatbot support and an AI insights assistant, bio.link shipped an AI helper, and a wave of "AI link in bio" startups appeared. Direction confirmed. The difference is what the conversation knows and what it is for.

The honest take
If your bio link's job is routing fans to merch, playlists, and a newsletter — Linktree is excellent at that, and a chatbot add-on may be all you need. If the person opening your link is deciding whether to hire, contract, or back you, a list of links answers nothing. That moment is what a proxy is engineered for.
They also compose: plenty of people put their proxy link at the top of their Linktree. The conversation does the convincing; the list keeps being a list.

Questions people ask
Can't I just add a chatbot to my Linktree?
You can — Linktree supports chatbot add-ons that answer from your links and FAQs. The difference is depth and purpose: a proxy is trained on your actual professional story (résumé, projects, interviews), analyzes pasted job listings for fit, and captures leads with the full conversation attached. A link-list chatbot points; a proxy answers.
What about my data?
Linktree's July 2026 terms added an OpenAI integration that shares profile data with ChatGPT. AskProxy publishes your proxy at your own address and serves AI crawlers open, structured context you control — your proxy is the canonical source, not an export into someone else's platform.
Do I have to leave Linktree?
No. Many people put their askproxy.ai link at the top of their Linktree. The proxy is the conversation; the link list keeps being a list.
