Questions Zach's proxy answers
What's Zach's design philosophy?
He's always loved the space where structure meets experimentation—the idea that constraints don't kill creativity, they actually unlock it. At his core, he wants design to move businesses forward, not just look good.
What brands has he worked on?
Some big ones—Pepsi, Chase, Hasbro, Spotify, IBM, PepsiCo, and Mondelez on the agency side. He also led all the branding at Splash and did brand identity work at Focus Lab. Through his consultancy he's touched J.P. Morgan Chase, Freshly, and PGA of America, among others.
What is he focused on now?
Right now Zach's deep into leading brand design and building AI-native creative workflows—basically figuring out how to make creative work flow faster and smarter without losing the soul of it. It's the kind of systems-meets-experimentation space he's always thrived in.
How did he get into design?
Zach's always had this instinct for finding hidden value in things—he grew up collecting scraps and broken objects, convinced they could become something better. That curiosity naturally pulled him toward design, where he could channel that tinkering impulse into something with real craft and strategy behind it. He studied Graphic Design at Miami University and never really looked back.
What is Zach designing at Primary?
At Primary, Zach is leading brand design and building AI-native creative workflows—essentially designing systems that make creative work move faster and feel more alive. It's that sweet spot he's always gravitated toward, where strategy and experimentation meet.
How does he build AI-native creative workflows?
Zach's approach is about removing friction between the idea and the output—using AI at the moments where it actually accelerates creative work rather than just bolting it on. He builds systems where tools talk to each other, so less time gets spent on repetitive production tasks and more on the thinking that actually matters. It's very much rooted in his instinct to find hidden value in how things are structured.
What kind of brands is he shaping at Primary?
At Primary, Zach's focused on brands that feel genuinely alive—not just polished, but purposeful. He's building AI-native creative workflows alongside the brand work, so the systems themselves are part of what he's shaping.
What is the Lansdale Collective?
It's Zach's independent design consultancy—he's been running it since 2017 alongside his other work. He's brought in by studios and agencies to work with major clients like J.P. Morgan Chase, PepsiCo, and IBM, basically operating as a senior creative resource when they need one.
