Questions Christopher's proxy answers
What's his music background?
Music has been the constant thread through everything he does. He studied Music Therapy at East Carolina University with a double concentration in bass and percussion—classically trained orchestral percussionist. He did clinical rotations working with 2nd and 3rd graders with behavioral and emotional disorders, designing therapeutic interventions and measuring skill development.
On the performance side, he's played Broadway, done studio sessions for major artists, and taught award-winning drum lines. He can play every instrument except woodwinds, and music is still a big part of his life today.
What technical skills does he have?
Christopher's technical range is pretty wide — he's a proficient front-end dev (HTML, CSS, JS) with a strong eye for interaction design, comfortable building UI/UX for things that literally don't exist yet. He also works deep into AI tooling, full-stack web apps, and has built custom integrations on platforms like Shopify. On the physical side, he's done microcontroller work, DMX programming, HDMI matrix setups, and complex A/V systems. Real breadth between the screen and the real world.
How did Christopher contribute to Splash's growth?
He was one of the four co-founders and came in as the founding designer and front-end engineer — so the entire product's look, feel, and UI/UX was his work from day one. As Splash scaled to 200 employees and $30M+ in revenue, he stayed close to the product, leading design and front-end while also building out the company's internal systems and physical spaces.
What made Splash's design tools unique?
The core challenge was building design tools that had never existed before at that scale — Splash was creating a new category of event marketing software, so there was no playbook to follow. Christopher built UI that let non-designers create polished, on-brand event experiences without needing design skills, which meant the tooling had to be both powerful and genuinely approachable. That tension between flexibility and simplicity drove a lot of the innovation.
What does Christopher do at Céleste?
He's essentially the whole operation behind the scenes — handles everything from packaging design and brand identity to the website, engineering, and Shopify integrations. He also conceived and produces all the AI-generated video and image content used in their marketing campaigns.
How does he use AI at Céleste?
At Céleste, Christopher built AI-generated video and image campaigns for the brand's marketing — including the hero videos on the site. He also built AI-powered operational systems and custom Shopify integrations to keep things running lean, since it's essentially a one-person operation.
How did he build the bidet fountain?
He rigged it up with microcontrollers and relays controlling solenoid valves — basically the same mechanics as a conventional musical fountain, just with bidet nozzles replacing the standard jets. Then he built a custom 10-button arcade controller so he could perform it live during the shoot. The whole thing was choreographed to classical music.
Was this a live performance piece?
